Awesomness redfined in many ways

Whoop whoop awesometimes today and yesterday. So lets start with today.

TODAY!!!

Me and Kylie went to see Luna in Norwich for a fun day of conversing, laughter and shopping.

We found some awesome stuff like my Batman beyond figure of terry maguiness, more gunpla goodness, comics (yaaaaaaaaay). What made me especily happy was the promo freebie. I now have a black lantern ring ... IM A CRAZY ZOMBIE WHOOOOOOOO!!!

Yus well much fun was had by all think ill have to go back to norwich again soon.

Ok so Yesterday between a minor incident in the kitchen I worked on a few minis over Kylies. one being the Old witch of Khadors Scrap Jack.

I really wanted to make the jack look like it was a hunk of scrap so instead of khadoran reds I used Tin Blitz as a base and then dryburushed (oh noes i dry brushed i sinned) brazzen brass over the jackand whala scrap jack ala scrap.

I also managed to paint kylies pirate before the game started except for the hair. I say it was probaly the most enjoyable model to paint just because I got to play with colours and mixing browns to do the leathers. I stil lhate trying to paint eyes.

So the other night we got around to finnshing the witchfire Part 1 - the Longest Night.

Warning the following section contains spoilers.

So we ran through the last part where alexias undead minions attack Corvis and well do quite a good job of causing terror. You know they were meant to. Terror and Confusion. So after shooting hacking and wrenching there way therough the undead to the church (as al the mechanik finnaly decided the undead So did not come across the city gates but probaly through the chirch catacombs). So they got there unfortunatly Kai had a family emergency and had to bail so his sorceress was koed by some falling rubble from a stray cannonball.

They got to the church to find it not streamign with undead and Father dumas out in full battle dress.

So we jumped straight into defendign the bridge. I only lobbed them 2 of the suggested 4 waves only because being a party of now 3 meant they were outnumered. I did send in Father dumas to aid the party esspecialy after the arcae mechanik was taken out of action with a unfortunate critical.

The waves took a bit of effort because of the smaller team (they were outnumbered 2 - 1 at level 2) the 2 fights served there purpose though. By the end the entire party including the fighter were wounded (albeit not that much in the fighters case) and tired from there ordeal as they retreated back Father dumas had to tend to the mechanik. Finnaly the undead came over in the huge wave and the party were like BUGGER this in whuch Alexia came in took her mothers body and the witch fire. enter the mysterious wizard the tug of war for the sword began and the PCs decided to give it to the Wizard. Non of the party trust Alexia at all which is great. I mean seriously awesome cause hell i wouldnt. Id still hit it.

SO we ended the game with Alexia flying off with the witch fire her entire army fell into old bones and a exhaughsted party was left to watch the city skyline burn.

So next session will be time for them to do what they need to do before the next part. So a bit of free form RPing and also I think I may run the inbetween quest. anyway its 3am i need to bloody sleep.

just a little update today

you know i havebeen painting my minis of late and i hought Id show everyone how far I have gotten.

BEHOLD from left to right - Vahn oberon (iron kingdoms - witch fire trilogy), Alexia Ciannor (witch fire trilogy - iron kingdoms), Miyamato Musashi (Infinity) and the big guy at the back is my Sprigana khadoran heavy warjack.

My sprigan im very proud off just because its not all red!!! I went and added another colour that wasnt a metal AWESOMENESS!!!

Ohberon isnt very red for my liking. Ill probaly go over Ohberon next with a coat of blood red snd p3 red ink mainly to pick out the folds in the robes.
alexias jacket i am pleased with. Its a mi of scorched brown (games workshop) and blood tracker brown (p3) iron wht ive then washed over with ogryn flesh (games workshop). Ohberon and alexia are from the iron kingdoms minatures range and featurei the witch fire trilogy. I have picked up all the Witch Fire Trilogy miatures and so far have completed only father dumas (whos missing an arm)
helstrom will be on the workbench later on after ive finished my current 3 miniatures. He will be joining Scarlet Kylies pirate minature from our dnd games.

I think ill paint alexia quite pale as she seems the pale kind.

Miyamato even though you cant see it properly hes standing on one of the street scenic bases from black cat bases. There awesome. and to be honest I dont think i did not even i have still need to put a base on him its got a big enough base as it is. Hes from the infinity game range and I still have to build his entire team and there support mech fuuuuun.
Right back to fixing my pc and going to sleep cause work tommorow /sigh

ok before we get to the ranting lets look at a shinny new retibution warcaster Ravyn she looks shinny.

But none the less lets begin the rant its a classic. I HATE MY JOB!!!
Yeah last night was hell on earth got in at 6 to find it was all go. Pot wash was crammed up no one was working on it GAH. I jumped straight in we had to have two people working on the make table makign dah food prep sucks. The boss was meant ot be helping i nthe kitchen but didnt see him till late. Went and got most of defrost doen before i I ran out of clean pans and had to go to do potwash.

Oh and no one broke down any of the work surfqaces so I was essentialy left to close the entire kitchen myself JOY.

So yeah 2:30 this morning i slugged my corpse back home and went to bed annoyed that I start at 12 today and im closing again WHY!!!

so yeah anyone got a better job out there let me know.

lets delve deeper into geekside

So here I go im gonna try and talk for a few minutes about something not made by Privateer Press or D&D related.

SO Warhammer 40,000 it is then. Now for years I played 40k because it was the only minatures game I knew what dealt with somethign what wasnt you know lets go reenact history with some minatures. Of course now there are many games for me to play and get my geek grove on. But before then I musty have spent alot on 40k. I know one of my last major purchase makes my spendature on 40k HUGE. when Appocalypse came out I brought a battle company I still havent finnished painting it.

But anyway after a while even though I love the 40k universe to bits and I honestly do im slowly giving up on the game as a whole. The reason why is that I odnt like the format anymore especialy with the armies. Also im cheesed off ive had to change my army books like several times in the past 3 or so years.
Now the new rules are good yes compared to 3rd and 4th ed rules which well 3rd was dreadful 4th was a improvment and 5ths gettign there. But what got me the most was the new format of the army books in 5th edition.

Now i understand the reason for it al lthe info in one sectio nand less serachign for how much this upgrade costs and what these special rules do but for me the customisability is gone.
i mean with the last Imperial gard and Space marine codex you had the options of running a default bog standared army picked fro mthe army list or you could take special traits. I had a space marine army limited on fast attack choices but had tactical marines equiped with a pisto land melee weapon rather than the standered bolter. I could make my assualt marines a little tougher for 3 extra points and takign them as elite choices. Essentialy I had 5 assualtt squads i na army and melee equiped tactical units. I enjoyed this load out.

With my guard I had made it so I hasd a rifleman regiment with a force of guardsmen who could scout through terrain and could take snipers in those squads.

But now i can take certain units and do fun stuff like, Take a chater master kit him out with a bike and take a bike squad as retinue and bike squads as troop choices but tis nto as fun. It has less fun options.

Sayign that I did enjoy appocalypse the expansion the made. Jsut the idea of takign 9 years of minatures stickign them on the table and going all out awesome. Just hard to find a opponent for a game with my shcedule is impossible as they take time. By time last game I did we started at 9 am finnushed up at 5pm and had what 5 turns i nall. Madness.

now they have a new expansion Planet strike. This looks to be fun I suppose the idea that the defender will have a hard time as the enemy will just keep on dropping in but to be honest im not going to buy it. Not for now. Time to put the crazyness of buying too much 40k, well for a while anyway. Prehaps il lbuy more when the battle company is painted. And the banblade is built .. .and painted.

I want a Titan but anyway on to somethign else.

Alistair my Arcane Mechanik in my IK campaign has been picking my brain about what he can build in time. He was going to make a flyign disc these are now flying boots. The airship options in there. A rail gun came up today but the one I want to see is the Giant Riding wolf.

Ok so we were bouncing ideas of awesome ideas he was thinking of a mechanika horse with compartments for storing equipment. Thinkign storing all equipment would be a obeslete idea he decided upon storing just weapons. So yeah then I said that was like clouds bike fenrir. Then we got talkign bout fenrir from norse mythology. this then turned to a mechanika Wolf powered by a storm chamber al could ride and store weapons in it. Hes now worked out what rune plates he wants to add to it to make it faster make it jump and now wants to add a warjack cortex to it. This thing will be expensive and excesivvly awesome. Says hell draw up the plans in game soon hehe cant wait, but i will have to as you know hes only level 2 hes gonna have to be alot higher to build it.

Super Size my Warjack

Yeah so I went to The privateer press website this morning geared up to see what ne Shinny Retribution stuff there would be on the site today. There wasnt, instead however my taste buds were overjoyed to chew on the news that Warmachine has finnaly got a extreme sculpt.
For those who dont know Privateer Press do on occasion amazing culpts of iconic units, These minatures have amazing detail and a dynamic pose Plus a larger than normal price tag. For Exmple So far theyve done the Circles Warp wolf and The tollblood dire troll. Wel lnow its Warmachines turn.
Ladies and Gentlemen I Give you the Jugernaught EXTREME SCULPT. excuse me I need to freshen up.

Anyway This is Khadors classic warjack its awesome the pose is amazing, but the best part is that this sculpt towers over the normal jugernaught sculpt. Heck I do belive that this Jugernaught would make the behmoth blush. Fully possible goodness people FULLY POSSIBLE!!! It means when puttign it to gether I can put It together however I want AWESOME.
Now I just need some extra Cash to buy one .... Hope they got some in November still.

It went well

Before We begin this little uhh rant will talk about events that Happen in the Longest night (part one of the witch fire trilogy) So you know this is spoiler time so you have been warned.

WARNING WITCHFIRE SPOILERS!!!!
ok you have been warned.




Just as I thought we would finnish the longest night ... yeah it has slipped from our slippy grasp ... as you see i lost track of time and we well as the longest night began we had to say goodnight. But you know I enjoyed runnign this session
Mr X and Miss Y unfotunatly did not show for reasons. but ok So we got on with it you know the other 4 were here whoopie.
So yeah we got through Fort Rhyker as our paladin walked off our clint eastwood gun mage shwoed up. And in there 1st encounter suffered a new hosue rule of mine. Limb loss. Now you see the Iron Kingdoms has this great section on prospheticlimbs. Problem is therse not really any rules for losing limbsin D&D so I made some up.

Essentialy it works like this. If criticaled by a foe and does enough damage to leave you with 2 HP or lower, the player has a 15 % chance of losing a limb which is determined by the roll of a d4

1. Left Arm
2. Right Arm
3. right Leg
4. Left Leg

As such ouchies.

A player can try and attack al imb without criticaling and this will incur a -6 penakty to hit the limb of choice. If hits there is once more there is a 15% chance that limb is lost. If you critical whilst attempting to hack off al imb the chance of success is taken to 25%.

Any weapon held in the afore mentioned hand is dropped.

This can only be preformed ith a slashing weapon.

So yeah 1st encounter our newbie gunmage has he goes to open a door as he does the thrall warriors open the door commign out to see what the commotion is (someone used the dumb waiter >.<). So yeah 1st round sekelotn equiped with a great axe Criticals confirms Percent Cleared and swossh no n gun arm gone .... oh dear. So after that we had a armless gunmage badly woudned wanderign around. It was fu neveryone enjoyed that I think it added a bit of the of balls this may be a problem factor. Although un the Acane Mechaniks case it was along thel ines of:

"So When Can I make mechnika limbs again?"

I am enjoying our Arcane Mechanik he is most delightful.

So yeah they get through the fort with Minimal fuss. I sped up the fort a bit and they arrived in the court yard to find you know alot of Undead standing at attention. This is not good for them. so they go over to the big stained glass window and see Alexia and her undead Coven well building the thrall army. Now this is hwere my party supprised me.

Instead of doign the classic party so yeah lets try and blow em all up NOW the Arcane mechanik finnishes perring in the windopw turns to party realys information and jsut says.

"So Whos up for running the *BEEP* away?"

a unaimous show of hands goes up from the crowd and they leg it before they are noticed and on the way out blew up the drawbridge and you know then they hear hundreds of clankign armoury sounds and instead of stoping and watching the undead army and alexia from the other side and you know no wity banter they legged it jumped on nthere horses and bolted.

They tell helstrom and its off for some r&R whilst they await the enemy. Rest up recover from wound buy more toys etc. And then we began with the 4 thralls through the mist and by the end of it everyone wondering where the hell did they coem from. They expected a attack from the gates not from the inside. Instinctevly they think ahh somethigns gone horribly wrong at the gates best go check it out. and we neded there.

So all in all its been a good ngiht and the end of the Longest Night is almost here will Alexia finnaly get what she wants who knows.

Also they know the inquisitons are about and possibly after them. I also gave them a gistory check into Vinters reign a little. Why because I think Everyone in the Iron Kingdoms should Know that VINTER RAELTHRONE is #1. I am a big vinter loyalist what can I say.

So yeah afterwards helped the guys pick some new minis out of the iron Kingdoms range showed em the Iron Kingdoms etc and generaly got soem feedback. Thumbs up all round whoop. Now to just get this over and done with so we can move on to part two.

Cant wait to see what these new palyers wil lbe like.

anyways I just got out of a mettign with some friends about somethign secretive and Kylies upstairs awating me so I shall bid you all Good night.

Paladin came and aksed to be let in after reading this blog apparently he had al il chat with miss Y and has promissed to keep her on a leash shes on prohbation with the group ie if they dont enjoy her being on the table shes out so to speak.
